On March 29th and 30th, students of the University of Regina, its Federated Colleges, and satellite campuses, will vote on whether they support a per-credit per-semester fee to fund a Student Legal Advocacy Centre. And whether they support the creation of and membership in a Saskatchewan Provincial Students Union, which will be funded by a per-semester fee. The referenda questions, FAQ’s, and a full breakdown of the proposed budgets can be found at ursu.ca/elections.

The Student Legal Advocacy Centre, if successful, will provide students direct independent access to lawyers and representatives for a variety of issues that students face, from visa issues, employment issues, landlord-tenant issues, tax support, corporate filings and a number of other issues, without costing a small fortune in legal bills.

The Saskatchewan Provincial Student Union will work to unite students provincially, and serve students by pushing the government to adopt better laws around education, improving the quality of education and making education serve students better.
